The senior research director will be responsible for developing and managing
his or her own research practice, with support from Field Research’s other
research directors. The position reports directly to the company’s president
and offers an excellent opportunity for someone who has expertise in
quantitative and qualitative research methods, a client base and the ability
to generate profitable new business based on his or her skills, specialized
knowledge, experience, and reputation.
Successful candidates will have the following:
· A proven record in developing a strong client following.
· A graduate degree in the social or behavioral sciences.
· At least 10 years of research experience.
· Strong analytic, design, conceptualization and presentation skills.
· Specialized knowledge in a program or industry area.
· Ability to work independently in servicing and developing new clients.

High Point University invites applications for a tenure-track position in
political science at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The
successful candidate will teach a reduced load of four courses each year in
the three-member Department of Political Science, while also serving as the
director of the university's newly established Center for Public Opinion.
The director's position entails overseeing the administration of several
polls throughout the academic year and coordinating the center's efforts to
involve students and faculty from various disciplines in original survey
research projects using 20 CATI-equipped call stations.
The successful candidate will be willing to teach an advanced seminar in
public opinion, the department's introductory survey of American politics,
and other courses in the applicant's area/s of graduate training and
research. The field of specialization is open; however, a strong command of
research methods, evidence of scholarly promise, and demonstrated teaching
effectiveness at the undergraduate level are essential. Pending final
administrative and budgetary approval, this position will start mid-August
2009. The PhD must be completed by the time of appointment.
